Adelaide Bricks and Mortar Children’s Shops

Here are some of our favourite local Adelaide bricks and mortar children’s shops:

  • Seed Kids Autumn Fashion Picks

Layers, layers, layers. Autumn is all about warming up, cooling off, and being active, all at the same time.

Pants are coming out in both relaxed and skinny fit, for both boys and girls… there is a real crossing over of boys/girls items. Its great to see! Tucked into boots or with skates/flats, all styles are super easy to work with.

I’m not a fan of big bulky jumpers on active kids, so love puffer jackets that don’t inhibit movement but still keep their chests warm. Ponchos are a great option too, especially the ones with pompoms on them.

Boots, be it rubber or casual, are a must have and can be worn with both pants and skirts for the girls. And rubber boots these days are so stylish that they are very acceptable to be your shoe of choice!

Seed is the ultimate style hub for kids clothing, being one of the most popular children’s brands going around.

  • Stirling’s Triple Treat- Part 1- Patch kitchen and Garden

Stirling, you never stop giving. Your beautiful main street with its landscaped footpaths, bustling shops and village charm is delightful on many levels. And your trees! Your ah-mazing trees, with the most beautifully coloured leaves in the whole wide world (awarded by me). They are breathtaking, and still have a few weeks left of their colourful display.

But nestled further down the main road, is the ultimate oasis that is Boo and Child/Patch Kitchen and Garden and Ivy Shed. The perfect marriage of coffee, wine and food, shopping and fresh flowers. Four desirables (necessities) pretty high up on my list, and to have them all in the one spot is just genius.

Patch Kitchen and Garden is perfect on so many levels… welcoming of children who are catered for with the gorgeous huge cubby house, climbing trees, sand pit as well as an  indoor play area, together with the exciting (hello… no chips and nuggets in sight) menu, delicious adult choices, trendy servingware, and a drool-worthy cake fridge, with the option to take home goodies as well.

Beautifully decorated and super friendly staff (that give out treats to the kids that finish their lunch!) makes for happy parents and carers while the kids have a ball.

But dont be put off if you are heading up there sans kids… there is plenty of room to co-exist with the little ones. There are many rooms and spaces to enjoy the full experience in peace and tranquility. A definite to put on the list to explore one day, with exceptional local, seasonal and organic ingredients and super friendly staff waiting to give you a memorable experience.

  • Stirling’s Triple Treat- Part 2- Boo & Child

After the delicious lunch at Patch Kitchen and Garden (read all about it here), I wandered through to Boo and Child where I was greeted with beautiful high ceilings, light filled windows and  crazy-good feature walls, all with beautiful stock gorgeously displayed throughout. I L.O.V.E.D. the awesome range of boys clothes and accessories, so many great brands and super cool pieces.

There were so many quirky pieces that are just screaming for someone to make their statement piece in an outfit, from horses on necklaces to lace “Mickey Mouse” ear headbands, to oversized fluffy pompom beanies… I could have bought so much.

In addition to all of the beautiful BEAUTIFUL clothes, there were many unique room decoration pieces as well. From toadstool lamps, to beautifully framed artwork, to mason jars with brightly coloured lids and bold straws. One huge corner was taken up with shelves and shelves of awesome kids gifts, lots of cool present ideas and cute little trinkets.

There is also a gorgeous separate room filled with nursery items, newborn clothes and accessories, and THE most divine sparkly cow hide rug!! Everything was just perfection.

And don’t worry, its not all fun and games for the kids, there are some beautiful things for the lucky ladies in your life, and the lovely mums-to-be. With gorgeous gift wrapping and cute cards, Boo and Child is the perfect place to buy gifts

  • Stirling’s Triple Treat- Part 3- Ivy Shed

The third, and best smelling, in this delightful trio of local business heaven (read about Boo & Child and Patch Kitchen and Garden), is the Ivy Shed, aptly named from the overgrowing ivy that used to swallow up the crumbling stone outhouse.

Deborah saw the wonderful potential that was this little building that could, and after moving to Adelaide from Sydney, she re-established her florist business, catering for posies, gifts and garden accessories, and weddings! There is a lot of gorgeousness that comes out of this building!

Beautifully restored and decorated, everything about the Ivy Shed is glorious. You must pop your head in to smell and say hello.
